Enjoy the landscapes around the area of the Atlantic where the longest river in France flows into the sea with this Loire Estuary & Saint-Nazaire Day Trip.
Loire Estuary & Saint-Nazaire Day Trip
After picking you up at your hotel in Nantes at 9 am, we'll head towards the estuary of the Loire river, a vast river mouth of 120 kilometres that stretches all the way to the port city of Saint-Nazaire.
Along the entire length of the estuary, you'll see a collection of 33 contemporary open-air works of art by internationally renowned artists. During the road trip along the banks of the Parcours Estuaire, we'll also see how these artistic creations have blended perfectly with the natural environment of the Loire.
The tour will continue to Saint-Nazaire, where some of the most important ships of the French Navy have been built, and we'll tell you about the most important ships! In Saint-Nazaire, we'll also enjoy a typical French lunch, including a starter, main course and dessert, plus coffee.
After lunch, we'll head towards another of the estuary's most important towns, Lavau-sur-Loire, to walk along a short section of the path designed by the famous Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. The path will take us to a viewpoint overlooking the Loire, where we'll enjoy excellent views of the longest river in France.
The tour will end at 6 pm arriving back at your hotel in Nantes.
The tour includes pick up and transfer back to the hotels in the centre of Nantes. If you're staying in more remote areas, we'll pick you up at the Baco bus station, located on the avenue Allée de la Maison Rouge.
