Lhardy is an historic Madrid landmark. It was founded in 1889 as a confectioner but soon grew into one of the most famous eateries in the city. It is said that in these rooms political meetings took place and conspiracies were plotted. José de Salamanca, Emilio Castelar, José Abascal, Isabella II of Spain, Alfonso XII of Spain and Benito Pérez Galdós are just some of the notable people to have passed by the restaurant.

In the Lhardy restaurant you can enjoy the elegance and fine cooking that has been their trademark for over one hundred years.

The restaurant has been characterised by its delicate gastronomy from the beginning. Combining French haute cuisine with the Madrid culinary tradition, Lhardy has been offering a delicious selection of savoury dishes and desserts for 175 years, earning it mentions in plays, novels and newspaper articles.

“La verbena de la paloma” Menu

• Spanish potato salad and croquetas.
• Vol-au-vent with scrambled eggs and truffle.
• Sirloin steak stuffed with asparagus with Torta de Casar (sheeps’s milk cheese) and salted peppers.
• Lhardy soufflé
• Truffles and yemas (pastry cakes)

This menu includes white or red wine, mineral water and coffee or tea.

 “La alegría de la huerta” Menu

• Spanish potato salad and croquetas.
• Salted seasonal vegetables with prawns and a sprinkling of parmesan.
• Cod loin with potatoes and garlic mousseline.
• Surprise soufflé.
• Truffles and yemas (pastry cakes)

This menu includes white and red wine, mineral water and coffee or tea.
