Day Trip to Isla Holbox
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your hotel in the Riviera Maya, we'll travel to Chiquilá port, where we'll board a small boat for the crossing to Holbox Island, off the northern shore of the Yucatán.
Our first stop will be at a beach on the western coast of Holbox, where you'll have 45 minutes of free time to soak up the Caribbean sun.
Leaving this spot behind, we'll head to Isla Pasión, a small enclave of unspoiled beaches home to a variety of bird species. In this beautiful tropical paradise, you'll have free time to explore the area and relax at the viewpoint, which offers privileged views over the island.
Our route continues to Punta Mosquito, a stunning untouched beach accessible only from the sea. Between March and October, we may also spot the large population of pink flamingos that use this spot as a breeding and resting ground on their way to South America.
Next, and depending on availability, we'll either stop for lunch at a local beachfront restaurant or eat on board the boat. Either way, we'll enjoy a delicious traditional meal from the region. After eating, you'll have between 1.5 and 2 hours of free time to enjoy the beach and visit the village of Holbox, just a few minutes away on foot.
After a dreamlike day surrounded by the nature and tranquility of Holbox Island, we'll head back to the pier and return to Chiquilá port. From there, we'll take you back to your hotel, wrapping up the trip after 12 to 13 hours.
Itinerary Changes
Please note that the order of the visits described above may vary. If you take the tour on a day other than Monday or Thursday, weather permitting, the visit to Punta Mosquito may not be possible. In that case, we'll take you to Isla Pájaros or the Yalahau cenote instead.
Flamingo Sightings
While large populations of pink flamingos are commonly present in this area between March and October, these animals live in the wild and are unpredictable.
